Detroit people love the Red Wings more than the Pistons – and that is a fact (well if you take TV ratings as gospel anyway).

It is big for the NHL to beat out the NBA anywhere.

Since the strike the NHL has had to battle with NASCAR to be the fourth most popular sport in the US.

TV figures are up which is good for the sport but much more needs to be done if the sport is going to reach its former glories.
